I am a Pagan whose Tradition is derived from letters sent to Joseph Wilson from "Robert Cochrane". The consensus in the English Craft community is that Roy (His actual name) made it all up. We do know that the "Clan of Tubal Cain" had nothing to do with the Tradition known here as "1734". Nevertheless, the Tradition works, and our Coven was known in the Craft for it's dedicated energy. My opinion is that mysticism can derive truth from anything. What counts is the seeking of truth, which trains the seeker to inquire within. To effectively focus on which truth, however, is the purpose of the Myth.

The Mythology which Cochrane gave us enabled us to develop a coordinated Mythology, Wheel of the Year, and a powerful Ritual system. Mythology which empowers our future sustainability needs to focus on our relationship with Sacred Mother Earth and Father Sky, and the Immanence which affirms all life as Sacred. Most especially, we should see ourselves as in dialog with Deity, which infers a responsibility to sustain all life as stewards.
